DTD presents To Destroy You is No Loss

The Dorman Theatre Department presents their selection for the South Carolina Theatre Association's 2017 High School One-Act Play Festival.  To Destroy You is No Loss, based on the book by the same name, is the story of the Cambodian Genocide, based on the true-life experience of Teeda Butt Mam and her family.

Told from the viewpoint of 15-year-old Teeda living through the nightmare of Khmer Rouge occupation of Cambodia, the story demonstrates how the individual spirit can prevail against the overwhelming forces of tyranny.  Cultural and generational boundaries evaporate as the characters unfold the dignity and courage of this remarkable family infused with love, loyalty and the will to live.

This production is brought to you by the Theatre III class.  Although appropriate for all ages, due to themes of imprisonment, war, and death, parental guidance is suggested.

Please bring one can of food for admission! Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat (TOTS Eat) is the International Thespian Society’s annual nationwide community service initiative. Since the first campaign in 2003, Thespian troupes have collected and distributed nearly four million pounds of food to help their neighbors in need. All food collected will be donated to the District Six Food Bank.
