Directors

Angela D. Lemere

Angela Lemere is Spartanburg School District Six Choral Coordinator and Director of Choral Activities at Dorman High School where she conducts Chamber Singers, Dorman Singers and Concert Chorus, and collaborates with middle and elementary choral programs. She also serves as artistic director and conductor of Greenville Chamber Singers, and interim music director at Berea First Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. Her choral experience includes working with choral ensembles involving elementary through adult singers of public school, church and community choirs.

Angela is a National Board Certified Teacher, Music / Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Wingate University, and a Master of Music in Music Education degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

During the past twenty-five years, Angela has conducted choral ensembles that have received superior ratings in state and national festivals. She also has served as a choral clinician and presented at conferences associated with ACDA and MEA. She has been a member of SCMEA and SC ACDA committees, and held the offices of SCMEA Choral Division Treasurer and SC ACDA President.

She and her husband Brian live in Moore, SC.

 

Glenda N. Snead

Glenda N. Snead has been Associate Choral Director at Dorman High School in Roebuck, South Carolina for three years. Prior to her time at Dorman, she taught nine years at Dawkins Middle School, one of three middle schools which feeds into Dorman High School. In addition to her employment with Spartanburg County School District 6, Glenda has taught in three private schools and served on the staff of several churches. She became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2008. She graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, AL with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master’s Degree in Church Music. Glenda currently serves as Treasurer for the SC Music Educators Association Choral Division and has previously served on the SCMEA Middle School Committee.

 

Madeline Jurek

Madeline Jurek has been Choral Director at Dorman Freshman Campus for three years. Prior to her time at the Freshman Campus, Maddie served as an associate director at Dorman High School and as Director of Choral Activities at Landrum Middle and High Schools. Maddie became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2012. She graduated from Converse College with a Bachelors degree in Music Education and from Boston University with a Master’s degree in music education. Maddie serves as Webmaster for SC ACDA. She is married to Kyle and has two children, Ben and newborn, Allison Claire.

 

 

 

 

Jane Birmingham Morlan

Jane Birmingham Morlan (NBCT) recently retired after seven years as Instructor of Music Education at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC and thirty-five years of K-12 vocal and choral teaching in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. She has recently served as choral consultant for Spartanburg District Six Choral Arts and outreach teacher for the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities.

Ms. Morlan is past President of the South Carolina Music Educators Association and a 2002 Hall of Fame inductee as well as past President of the Southern Division of NAfME and member of the National Executive Board of MENC for four years. She has been honored as a district and school Teacher of the Year three times and has received service awards from Rotary International and the City of Simpsonville.
